Well, the Cosplay Christmas party is fast approaching. Staying true to our Monday night rendezvous’, it falls this Monday, the tenth. There’ll be a team of us out in force, dressed up to the nines in our most daring (and hopefully, Christmassy) get ups. Chloe has successfully persuaded me to go with the anime Christmas idea. We have been Googling images this week for inspiration, and tomorrow we’re hitting the shops in Manchester to get our outfits together. I think our first stop will be the unique and quirky Afflecks Palace, as they’re likely to have the kind of thing we’re after.
To keep you in the loop, anime is the Japanese style cartoon characters you get – it’s very stylised – think Pokemon, but people. It’s a little weird but Chloe and I have decided we can have a lot of fun with our make up trying to replicate the distinct look. There’ll also be the slight issue that Chloe’s ex boyfriend, Chris, will be there (she’s bound to want to look good – look what you missed out on, type thing). This should be interesting, seeing as she’s having quite a tough time with her current boyfriend at the moment.
Anyway, we’ll be starting out at the 62 Castle Street Hotel (previously Trials Hotel) for a lovely sit down meal, before going onto a few different bars in Liverpool. I think the idea initially was to try and secure a VIP area somewhere in one bar, but due to the cost it was decided the funds should be used to make a kitty and we can then scout around for the best offers – I’m sure there’ll be plenty of promotions staff wanting to cater to a big party, so all in all it should be a fun night!
